In April 2022, an artist-in-residence program was launched in the Kitano area (located in Kobe’s Chuo-ku) to further develop Kobe as a cultural port for artists and creators to gather. Aiming to further revitalize Kobe culture, the program consists of two main activities: the Partnership Program in Kobe, designed to form partnerships with cultural facilities and other organizations in the city, and provide accommodations for resident artists; and the Program by AiRK, which invites artists from Japan and abroad to take part in independent projects to promote interaction in the region and with other artists through workshops and other events. The contemporary dancer Daniel Proietto will perform at Rokko Meets Art: Art Walk 2023 beyond in an event curated by Mirai Moriyama.
