Sayumi KOGA
Born in Saga Prefecture in 1989, lives in Oita Prefecture.

As a child, she developed a familiarity with the nature environment in Kyushu and classical piano. After graduating from university, she started composing music and singing while accompanying herself on piano. In 2020, she moved to Taketa, Oita Prefecture. There, she built a studio at the foot of a mountain, and is currently expanding her range of collaborations to include music for videos, stage productions, commercials, facilities, and stores. She also conducts fieldwork on folk songs in the region and performs there. With a soft voice and improvised piano, she freely expresses natural inspirations, and the atmosphere and history of the places that she visits.
In 2021, she created a theme song for the Rokko Forest Sound Museum, where she oversees installations and in-house music.
Created the theme song for the NHK-TV drama Takara no toki, starring Shinobu Terashima. Commercials for the Hakone Open-Air Museum and other facilities, for which she composed the music, are currently being broadcast nationwide.
A prize for excellence in the Kyushu Grand Prix, Yamaha Music Revolution 2011.
The Semi-Grand Prix, The Canal City Fukuoka Music Factory Final 2012.
A medal in the Consumer-Selected Advertising Division (TV Advertising Category) in the 57th JAA Advertising Awards, provided music for the AC Japan commercial “Backpacks and Plastic Tanks.”
