I create installations dealing with the theme of the “existence of memory.” In recent years, afterimages have come to be regarded as memories from a certain moment in time. In my work, I express afterimages with metal mesh and wire. By superimposing a number of transparent images made of metal mesh, images of the past and the present seem to overlap and assume a single form, while also intermingling with the actual space to convey a new sense of time.
