When creating works on the potter's wheel, I conceptualize the form two-dimensionally through its silhouette. This flat silhouette manifests as a three-dimensional form through the rotation of the wheel. The potter's wheel, which generates this rotation, is a tool that syncretizes the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional. Through this syncretism, codes such as materials and techniques are refined and presented as a "mode"—the artwork itself. In the contemporary era, I believe that treating various elements as codes, syncretizing them, and transforming them into works as a "mode" is a methodology toward the future rooted in our ancient ways of living. By presenting this practice and proposal within the exhibition, I aim to visualize it as a syncretic style.
