Using clothing and textiles donated by various people, they create works based on the motif of "roots." Viewing each material as a fragment of life imbued with the memories and time of its former owners, they layer these fragments and sculpt them into the form of roots, thereby expressing the connections between the past and present, as well as between people.Although roots are usually hidden beneath the soil and invisible to us, they support life by spreading powerfully deep into the earth. In English, the word "roots" also symbolizes the invisible connections in life, such as one's homeland, ancestry, and history. At a time when various divisions are deepening around the world, they continue their artistic creation as an approach to reconsidering what supports us, and to looking beyond individual backgrounds and perspectives, while recognizing that we all share the same earth and support one another despite our diverse origins.
