Nobuko Nakano is a neuroscientist, critic, and Doctor of Medicine. She graduated from the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, and completed a doctoral program in Neuropsychiatry at its Graduate School of Medicine. She is currently Professor at Higashi Nippon International University and Visiting Professor at Kyoto University of the Arts.
Specializing in neuroscience, Nakano has widely communicated insights into human emotion, decision-making, and social behavior through research, writing, and media appearances. In recent years, she has expanded her practice into the field of art, completing the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Global Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, in 2023, where she explored the relationship between science and art. Since 2022, she has also curated exhibitions that incorporate brainwave data, examining perception and creativity across disciplines.
