NORIMATSU Karin
Born in 1998 in Nagasaki, live in Hyogo, Japan
Ph.D. in Art, Kyoto University of the Arts (2026)
My theme is “The Relationship between Plants and People.”
I view plants, which are being transformed by scientific technology such as genome editing, as new entities that evolve with the help of humans, and depicts them in the form of natural history paintings that contribute to scientific research through the creation of machine plants.
I hope that my legacy (mechanical plants) will be discovered by someone in the near future, just as new species have been discovered, classified, and studied on actual new continents.
