Working primarily with busts as a motif, she seeks to capture the presence of living individuals. By using figures who remain vividly present in her own memory as models, she seeks to capture and express the inner essence of a person through sculpture. In doing so, the works depart from conventional human form while revealing the distinctive qualities of each individual, allowing new ways of envisioning the human figure to emerge beyond established representations.
The material and process of bronze casting, with the energy inherent in its very nature, possess a powerful vitality that has become essential to expressing the presence embodied in the busts.
In addition to creating sculptures, she is involved in the maintenance and conservation of outdoor sculptures and has a strong interest in how such works can be preserved for future generations. Witnessing the affection and engagement that outdoor sculptures inspire among diverse audiences has led her to aspire to place works in public spaces.
Outside the studio, she enjoys touring by motorcycle and is particularly fond of riding in Ishikawa Prefecture. Motorcycle maintenance, however, is still left to her father.
