While studying at the Art and Architecture School of Waseda University, he trained under Asao Tokolo. Working with light and material, the artist reveals the underlying structures of place, creating sculptures, installations, and photographic works that function as devices through which environment, changing conditions, and viewers interact. He has participated in major exhibitions including Echigo-Tsumari Art Field Winter, Tokyo Biennale, Oku-Noto Triennale, UBE Biennale (Yamaguchi Bank Prize), and the Art in a Container International Competition at the Kobe Biennale (Runner-up Prize). Major works include the 30-meter ceiling installation “Flowing Time Reflecting on the River” at MIYASHITA PARK, and “GLOWING GROWING GROUND,” a series installed across six wall locations at Osaka International Airport. Awards include the Chiba City Art and Culture Award for New Artists (Encouragement Award), the Kajima Sculpture Competition (Silver Prize), the Lih Pao Sculpture Biennale Awards (Bronze Prize, Taipei, Taiwan), and the Aesthetica Art Prize (Shortlisted, York, UK).
