She is an artist whose practice is grounded in ceramics and incorporates materials such as earth, dung, bone, milk, and wild plants. Her work spans installations, sculptural objects, and drawings, as well as workshops, fieldwork, and collaborations with performance-based practices. She understands the body not as a closed and autonomous entity, but as a tubular medium that remains in continuous connection with others and with the earth. Through bodily cycles of going out, gathering, ingesting, and excreting, and through repetitive acts such as kneading, firing, and weaving, she creates works that move back and forth across the boundaries between body and earth, life and death, and the sacred and the defiled. Approaching these processes as acts akin to prayer or ritual, she explores the recovery of ways of sensing and experiencing time through the body’s engagement with the world—sensibilities that have become increasingly obscured in contemporary life.
