Working with themes of light, sound, space, and place, he creates works that engage with memories inscribed in both landscapes and human lives. Attuning to traces of memory that are close at hand yet difficult to perceive, to sounds that linger within a place, and to layers of unspoken time that have accumulated over years, he draws these elements out and transforms them into artworks. While rooted in painting, his practice extends to spatial works, sound installations, performances, and talks. Grounded in the acts of measuring, arranging, and remembering, he recombines collected materials to give form and sound to memory. Through this process, memories emerge as physical and sonic presences. In recent years, he has gathered sounds in various locations through research and residency-based projects, exploring the layered memories embedded within each place. Through exhibitions, presentations, and talks, these investigations are shared with others, creating opportunities for individual memories to intersect with those of others.
