Artist. Umezawa collects, deconstructs, and reconstructs vast amounts of images found across the internet, expressing the sensation of confronting a flood of information through chaotic, multi-layered compositions. Connecting the visual culture of online networks to the materiality of painting, he questions how we perceive and make sense of images today. His solo exhibitions include those at DIESEL ART GALLERY and RICOH ART GALLERY. He has participated in art festivals including Setouchi Triennale 2016 and Reborn-Art Festival 2017. His works are in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Mori Art Museum, Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, and Lithuanian National Museum of Art. Represented by CASHI.
