The cool mountain climate allows the cultivation of approximately 1,500 species of alpine and cold-weather plants and wildflowers from around the world. Staff members offer guided flower tours twice a day, free of charge. During the latter half of the art festival from late October to late November, the trees in the garden turn red and yellow, so visitors can enjoy artwork alongside the autumn scenery.
