This botanical garden, associated with the botanist Makino Tomitaro, provides visitors with a view of Mt. Rokko’s native flora and Alpine-Himalayan flowers. The cool climate of the area, located at 865 meters above sea level, fosters the cultivation of some 1,500 species, including cold climate plants, alpine plants, and wildflowers from around the world in nearly wild conditions. The garden is adorned with seasonal scenes such as flowers breaking through the snow in early spring, new greenery at the start of summer, and changing leaves in fall.
