Yuuka HOTTA

Born 1999 in Aichi, live in Tokyo
2022 B.F.A. Tokyo University of the Arts, Oil painting course

Taking painting as a starting point, I try to touch the elusive presence of the body by moving back and forth between planes and space, such as making two-dimensional works in which I cut out a support and draw the image over and over, as if folding the body on the spot, or making installation works in which the space itself is considered as a support.
More recently, I have been incorporating printmaking into my work, producing drawings and other works in a variety of media.
