Yoshiaki KAIHATSU
Born 1966 in Yamanashi, Live in Yamanashi.
1991: Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Tama Art University with a major in oil painting.
1993: Completed a master’s course at Tama Art University.
He has focused on audience-participation art works and exhibited at the Venice Biennale's 9th International Architecture Exhibition in 2004 and the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale in 2006. In 2016, he held “2nd year of junior high sickness” at the Ichihara Lakeside Museum. Outside of Japan, he has participated in exhibitions such as Tokyo-Berlin/Berlin-Tokyo at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, exhibiting both in Japan and internationally. Since 2011, he has organized the Daylily Art Circus, holding exhibitions and workshops at schools and temporary housing facilities damaged by the earthquake. His solo exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo from August 3 to November 10, 2024.
