Maki KAWASAKI
Born 1971 in Kobe, live in Kobe.
1994 Graduated from Kobe Design University, Faulty of Visual Design.

First met as an assistant and student at university. Five years later, they met again at the maternity hospital when they were pregnant. While each artist was active in the “CAP Saturday Club,” a monthly workshop at CAP that adults and children alike can enjoy, Makiko MASUDA, who excels at three-dimensional works, and Maki KAWASAKI, who specializes in two-dimensional works, formed the creative unit Makikoms! Their name expresses their desire to reel in adults and children to think about fun things.
Their inspirations come from mundane everyday life, and when they find huge objects, long objects, fun things, and humorous things, they turn them into interactive modeling workshops. Both adults and children become immersed, taking things that seem ridiculous earnestly, feeling with their hands, and cherishing making things with their hands. Other projects include a monthly modeling play at a nursery school, park renewals in Kobe City, ward and city government projects, and venue design. They are both mothers to two children.
