Michael Lin
Born in Taiwan 1964, live in Belgian
Michael Lin reinterprets painting not as an object for quiet contemplation, but as a space one can physically enter, experience, and inhabit. He is known for large-scale painting installations that reconstruct and reconfigure public spaces, often incorporating patterns and designs inspired by traditional textiles.
His work has been exhibited at major international venues including the Venice, Lyon, and Liverpool Biennales; Mori Art Museum (Tokyo); Museo Jumex (Mexico City); and M+ (Hong Kong). More recently, his works have been shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, 2022), the Thailand Biennale in Chiang Rai (2023), and the Hayward Gallery in London (2023).
