Rokkosan Silence Resort (formerly Rokko-san Hotel) will feature special artworks by Michele De Lucchi, who directed the restoration and renovation of the hotel.

Architect, designer, and artist. A central member of Alchimia and Memphis, he served as design director for Olivetti from 1988 to 2002. He received the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1987.Among his numerous lighting designs, the ‘Trombone’ lamp by Artemide, which holds the world record for total sales, is one of his signature works. He has designed furniture for renowned Italian and European companies and realized architectural projects worldwide. He continues to work on cultural facilities , office buildings, industrial facilities, and private residences worldwide.

In 2000, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Azeglio Ciampi. In 2001, he was appointed full professor at the IUAV in Venice, and in 2006, he received an honorary degree from Kingston University. In 2008, he became a professor at the Design Department of the Milan Polytechnic . He is also a member of the Academic Committee of the National Academy of St. Luke in Rome. In 2018, he served as guest editor of Domus magazine. In 2022, he received the Compasso d'Oro Career Award. In 2024, he was awarded the academic title of the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Florence , and was appointed Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture.

Since 2003, he has been designing, painting, and sculpting wooden objects and models in his studios in Milan and Angela, exploring the essence of architectural forms and providing inspiration for professional projects. His works are part of the permanent collection of the Centre Pompidou in Paris .His works are currently exhibited in some of the most important museums in Europe, America, and Japan.

He is the founder and a member of the internationally renowned studio AMDL CIRCLE, known for its humanistic approach. He develops creative and strategic projects across various fields, including architecture, interior design, and graphic design.
