Mrs. mary the Goat
Mrs. mary the Goat
Born in Tokyo in 1972, lives in Yamanashi Prefecture
Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Tama Art University with a specialization in printmaking in 1996
The artist Tadashi Nakamura Tadashi dresses up as a goat named “Mrs. Mary the Goat” as part of a performance where he creates art of animals.
All people have created multiple personalities in society. These are formed through mutual relationships between the individual and their surroundings.
But do these alone identify the individual?
For the artist, “transformation” is the act of exploring the potential for connecting this abundance of individuality to society.
The animals created before the public appear to float cheerfully, while at the same time seeming to hang somewhat sadly.
What emerges from this artist, who is interested in the duality of things, is a multi-layered world of adult fables that goes beyond simply being cute.
