NAKAMURA Moe
Born 1975 in Tokyo, live in Kanagawa2012
Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, M.A. Department of Painting, Japan
She carves figures from logs of camphor and other wood then colors them with oil paint.
On canvas and in carvings, she creates mysterious figures as a projection of herself, something she has drawn since she was a child.
In 2021, “our whereabouts,” her first major solo exhibition in Japan, was held at the Pola Museum Annex in Tokyo at the same time that her solo exhibition “inside us” was being held at Gallery Tsubaki. She has participated in countless exhibitions and art festivals, including “House of the Rising Light | Group Show” (Dorothy Circus Gallery, Rome, London), ART OSAKA 2021 (Osaka City Central Public Hall), and Rokko Meets Art 2020 (Hyogo).
The ambiguous expressions and emotions of Nakamura’s works allow the world of artist to resonate with viewers in their own way through their own memories, fascinating people across borders.
