Hidemi NISHIDA

Born 1986 in Hokkaido, live in Tokyo
Master in Fine Art, Bergen Academy of Art and Design

After studied architecture and spatial design in Hokkaido, Nishida obtained a Master of Fine Art at the Bergen Academy of Art and Design in Norway. His architectural background brings together functional shape with an interest in intimate transformations of our environment. Nishida questions our milieu, deconstructing and adapting existing structures or materials or even whole landscapes in order to the audience again establish their own experience of the landscape.He’s work has been exhibited at Pola Museum Annex Exhibition 2024, Tokyo (2024); Romantic Route 3 Art Festival, Taiwan (2023); Time Space Existence, Italy (2021); Nakanojo Biennale 2019, Gunma (2019); Unmanned Station Art Festival, Shizuoka (2018); Gwangju Biennial, Korea (2014); Sapporo International Art Festival, Sapporo (2014) ; and so on. He has been selected to Over Sea Researcher Program 2018 by Pola Art Foundation in 2018 for his one year field research in Russia.
