I dismantle and reconstruct my own past creations to create art. I use past artwork as special materials.
Past artwork created at different times in my life contain the thoughts and methods of expression from those times.
Different versions of myself converge into one to create my current piece.
These pieces are updated into different pieces over the course of time.
For me, artwork is not something that is eternal, but something that is reborn.
I continue to create pieces that cherish change as well as the things that remain unchanged within change.
The pieces I dismantle as materials span a wide range, including wood paintings where wooden boards are carved with carving knives to create a surface, oil paintings on hemp or cotton canvases, ceramic artwork, and paper artwork such as prints and drawings.
Living animals often appear in the images, which are used as motifs to depict vitality and everyday life.
