SUDA Yoshihiro
Born in 1969 in Yamanashi, Japan. Completed his B.A. in graphic design at Tama Art University. Currently lives and works in Tokyo.
Suda curves flowers and plants in a realistic manner and placed sculptures in unexpected position to turn the whole space into his installation work.
Suda made his first solo show entitled “Ginza Weed Theory” at the parking lots on the Ginza street, Tokyo, in 1993. His major solo shows include Hara Museum of Contemporary Art (Tokyo, 1999), The Art Institute of Chicago (2003), The National Museum of Art, Osaka (2006), Marugame Genichiro-Inokuma Museum of Contemporary Art (Kagawa, 2006), The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu (2009), Chiba City Museum of Art (2012) and The Shoto Museum of Art (Tokyo, 2024).
His works are in numerous public collections including The National Museum of Art, Osaka; National Crafts Museum; Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art; The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa; Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; Lenbachhaus Kunstbau, Munich.
