WA!moto. “Motoka Watanabe”
Born 1981 in Date city, Hokkaido, Live in Tokyo.
In 2006, graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Musashino Art University.
Born in 1981 in Date City, Hokkaido, he is interested in the relationship between urban space and people, and has been creating and installing sculptures in public spaces to help people connect with urban spaces on an emotional and spiritual level.
His major works include Happy Monkey Avenue on the approach to the Hodo Inari Shrine in Ginza 4-chome (Ginza, 2016); YOUwe., a symbolic artwork for the bouldering wall of MIYASHITA PARK SHIBUYA (Shibuya, 2020); Find Our Happiness, a large 5.7-meter-tall sculpture (Zhongshan, China, 2021); IYMMTRSTN. 2023 (Inuyama, Aichi Prefecture, INUYAMAYŪEN Station); and HEY. 2024 (Tennozu, Tokyo, EZOHUB TOKYO).
